What vaccinations are required for my dog?

Your dog should be vaccinated against Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo Virus, Kennel Cough. (SHPPi).

What if my bitch is on heat?

We are of course well prepared because we know that these times aren’t always predictable. Depending on the circumstances, we can also create smaller groups with suitable companions to reduce any contact with male dogs. We do not require any special nappies or similar as all areas are cleaned daily anyway.

Do you offer a discount if I book my dog in frequently or book several dogs in at the same time?

Our expenses occur per guest, so whether two guests share the same owner doesn’t really make a difference to us. However, if you have a particularly easy dog and are planning a longer stay (more than 6 weeks), then please get in touch to see whether we are able to maybe adjust the price for you.

Is there always someone around? Or are the pets left to themselves at night?

The owner lives directly above the guest rooms and checks in on an evening to offer some extra cuddles and say good night, before the the soft sleep music transports your furry friends into the world of slumber.

Throughout the day, we work out who can share rooms peacefully, so night times tend to be a fairly quiet affair.

Do I need to / may I bring my own food?

Yes, of course you may bring your own food. Dry food from Belcando is already included in the price for our hotel guests. For dogs with sensitive digestion, we alternatively offer dry food from Vet-Concept. Naturally, we also accommodate individual feeding preferences such as BARF.

To ensure your dog is optimally cared for during their stay, we recommend the following:
• Portion each meal in advance, or let us know the exact weight or quantity per feeding — for example, half a can or 150 grams of dry food.
• Please pack a little more food than your dog would normally need per day, as our guests are usually much more active here and therefore require more energy.

This way, we can feed your dog precisely according to your instructions and their energy needs.

What’s feeding like at the Königreich?

Feeding always follows the individual instructions provided by each owner. Every meal is prepared precisely according to the specific feeding guidelines. Feeding takes place room by room, as many dogs tend to eat better and feel more comfortable in small, familiar groups.

If a dog is reluctant to eat its meal, this is not an immediate cause for concern. However, if the dog also refuses the second meal, we implement targeted measures to make the food more appealing and interesting—without altering the basic feeding principles.

After each meal, a designated rest period is scheduled. This helps ensure calm digestion, prevents potential digestive issues, and promotes overall well-being.

What’s the daily routine like for dogs?

The daily routine is clearly structured to ensure an ideal balance between activity and rest. Starting at 6:30 a.m., our hotel guests are the first to stretch their legs in the exercise area and, if necessary, take care of their “business.” During the following breakfast period, we take the opportunity to thoroughly clean the exercise areas so that from 10:00 a.m. onward, the dogs can once again enjoy extensive play and gamboling.

Playtime takes place under the supervision of our experienced caregivers, who also make sure that short breaks are taken whenever a dog overexerts itself. From 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., it’s time for a midday rest so that everyone can recharge and be ready for the afternoon play session. From 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., playtime resumes, allowing the dogs to romp about freely and burn off their energy.

Between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., dinner is served, followed by a short digestion break, after which there is another opportunity for individual activities or “business matters.” Around 7:00 p.m., the day comes to an end: the lights are dimmed, relaxing music plays, and the dogs can settle down for the night.

This structured daily routine ensures a balanced mix of exercise, relaxation, and individual care.

Cat Questions
My cat doesn’t know / or doesn’t like any other cats. Is that ok?

This is often a much smaller problem at our place than it is at home because all guests start off on neutral territory and therefore don’t feel the need to defend against any intruders. Cats usually come to an arrangement all by themselves and mostly find sharing a room quite relaxing.

Do I need to / may I bring my own food?

Of course, you may bring your own food; we’ll serve it directly to your cat at feeding times. Dry food is available at all times so that our guests can help themselves throughout the day. Obviously, we cannot always avoid that some of the guests try each other’s food – but that only adds to the excitement of their holiday.
